This announcement was made amid recent rumors that some of the former president’s supporters were unhappy with Tinubu and were considering leaving the APC collectively.
Those who gathered in Abuja on Thursday to express their support for the president included Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Radda; representative of the Niger State Governor, Umar Bago; former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Tanko Almakura; former Katsina State Governor and ex-House Speaker, Aminu Bello Masari; and the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, General Buba Marwa (retd).

Others present included Osita Okechukwu, the former Director General of the Voice of Nigeria VoN; former presidential aide, Okoi Obono Obla; former National Secretary of the APC, Arc. Waziri Bulama; former House of Representatives member, Farouk Adamu; the representative of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas; and Foreign Affairs minister, Maitama Tuggar, along with many other individuals.
They stated that while individuals have the right to pursue their political ambitions elsewhere, they do not need to do so under the guise of “defunct CPC members. “
In response to a question about whether the bloc would continue to support Tinubu, one of the leaders, Hon. Farouk Adamu, conveyed confidence that the president would still be their candidate even in 2027.
“We stand with Tinubu just like our leader (Buhari), and it is our hope that Tinubu remains our leader,” he remarked.
