Mikel Arteta makes Reiss Nelson decision as Arsenal make summer transfer plans

Mikel Arteta makes Reiss Nelson decision as Arsenal make summer transfer plans.
Reiss Nelson will have two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates this summer and Arsenal have made a decision over the 21-year-old’s future with the club. Arsenal will reportedly listen to offers for Reiss Nelson this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to whittle down his squad.
Nelson, 21, has spent the majority of this campaign on the fringes and has made just two Premier League appearances, both of which came from the bench.
The winger was promoted to the first team by Unai Emery at the start of last season after a successful 2018/19 campaign on loan at Hoffenheim.
But Nelson has lost his place in the matchday squad under Emery’s successor, Arteta, and the Gunners are open to letting him leave the Emirates at the end of the season. That’s according to CBS Sports , with Arteta continuing to leave out Nelson in favour of Bukayo Saka, Willian and Nicolas Pepe in the wide areas.
Earlier this season, the Spaniard confirmed Nelson – who is contracted until 2023 – chose to stay and fight for his place rather than depart on loan in the summer.
We ended up with a large squad at the end of the transfer market,” said Arteta.
