Manchester United to focus on securing Erling Haaland and Jules Kounde over Jadon Sancho

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho last summer. However, a deal could not be agreed upon and the winger stayed put in Germany.

While the club does remain interested in securing his services, he is far from the priority this summer. According to Express, fellow Dortmund star Erling Haaland and Sevilla ace Jules Kounde have both overtaken the Englishman in United’s wish list.

A major reason for United shifting their focus is the capture of Ivorian wonderkid Amad Diallo. The 18-year-old is capable of playing on the right-wing and has wowed so far in training. With the youngster potentially providing an alternative to Sancho, the club are keen to strengthen other areas of the pitch.

Given Edinson Cavani’s age and Anthony Martial’s inconsistency, bringing in an infallible scorer will give our attack a massive boost. There are few better in the world today than Haaland.

The young Norwegian, who played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, could be the ideal long-term solution to our striking woes. United were keen on signing him last January, only for him to join Dortmund instead.
