
In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 120 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos, marking one of the agency’s biggest operations in recent months.

Mass Arrest Based on Intelligence
According to the latest news update from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the suspects—comprising 95 males and 25 females—were apprehended on Monday across various locations in Lagos.
Oyewale stated that the operation followed credible intelligence and detailed surveillance, linking the individuals to internet-related fraudulent activities.
Luxury Items Seized in Raid
During the coordinated operation, EFCC operatives recovered a range of high-value items, including:
- 26 exotic cars
- Expensive jewelry
- Smartphones and laptops
- Several incriminating documents
These items are currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Legal Proceedings to Follow
Oyewale confirmed that all 120 suspects are now in EFCC custody and undergoing further investigation. He added that they will be formally charged in court once the investigation concludes.
This development adds to the growing list of arrests made by the EFCC in its continued fight against internet fraud and cybercrime in Nigeria.
