Arsenal could sign exciting attacker as €20m formal offer expected – Club are willing to sell Tue, 15 Jun 2021 15:29:50 +0000 Arsenal are being linked with numerous players this summer, but the rumours about Shakhtar Donetsk forward Manor Solomon do go back a few months.

In many ways he’s exactly the kind of player that Arsenal should be targeting – He’s still only 21, he can play anywhere up front, he comes with plenty of international and Champions League experience and he’s also won a few trophies despite his young age.

The links to the Gunners have been made again by Israeli outlet One, and it does sound like a formal offer is expected in the next few days:

They claim that Shakhtar aren’t in a position where they need to cash in on him, but they are open to letting him go for around €25m. Arsenal’s bid is expected to come in closer to the €20m mark so there may need to be some negotiations, but a deal could be done.

He’s at his best on the left side of the attack but he’s great with either foot so that allows him to play on both flanks, while his pace and ability to find the back of the net would make him an exciting signing.

This isn’t the only rumour about Arsenal making a bid this week so it might take a few days to see if this does go anywhere, but again it’s another player for Arsenal fans to keep an eye on.

Lionel Messi urges Barcelona to sign versatile Argentina teammate for €25m Tue, 15 Jun 2021 15:19:57 +0000 It’s always been thought that Lionel Messi does have some kind of say when it comes to Barcelona’s transfer policy, while you can also see a situation where his international teammates would love to link up with him at Barcelona.

Sergio Aguero has already joined for next season, but a report from Don Balon has indicated that Messi is pushing for Barca to make a move for Stuttgart’s versatile forward Nico Gonzalez.

He started in their Copa America opener last night against Chile and he did impress with his movement and intensity, but he also passed up some excellent chances as Argentina went on to draw the game 1-1.

The report indicates that he’s seen as being capable of playing in more roles than just his favored left wing, while he could even be deployed as a wing-back if needed so he would likely arrive as a rotational squad player rather than a starter.

It’s thought that he would cost around €25m so that could still be affordable for Barca despite their money woes, while it’s believed that Barca have been tracking him since 2018.

It’s worth pointing out that there is also reported interest from Roma and Spurs – two sides who would offer him a step up but also regular first-team football, but perhaps the allure of linking up with Messi at the Nou Camp could be enough to convince him to join.

Bid made: Chelsea make €70m player-plus-cash offer for Erling Haaland as they look to secure game-changing transfer Tue, 15 Jun 2021 14:59:36 +0000 It has emerged that Chelsea have made an offer to Borussia Dortmund in an attempt to secure the highly sought-after transfer of Erling Haaland this summer.

According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, the Blues have offered the Bundesliga giants a fee of €70m – relatively low given the quality and all-time great promise of Haaland – as well as Tammy Abraham.

20-year-old Haaland has continued to show his prolific nature at Dortmund, having sealed a switch to the side in January of 2020 after showing serious promise with Red Bull Salzburg.

The Telegraph reported just over a week ago that the Blues would in fact explore the option of using Abraham as a makeweight in a deal for Haaland and here we are.

Chelsea, who wish to recruit a centre-forward after winning the Champions League with Thomas Tuchel, may have attached themselves to a low-ball offer that could see them embarrassed though.

The Telegraph reported that Haaland was expected to cost more than £150m and here sit the Blues reportedly offering €70m for the striker and the services of a now fringe player in Abraham.

A host of the world’s biggest clubs are in for the services of the Norwegian sensation, with Manchester City seemingly leading the race by a margin that may be becoming wider now that Haaland is out partying with one of their current stars, the exit of Sergio Aguero and of course the family ties with City.

It remains to be seen whether the capture of Abraham in a part-exchange deal would appeal to Dortmund, especially considering the massive fee they could command for Haaland outright.

There’s no doubt that the Blues would see their odds in relation to winning the Premier League and defending Europe’s most prestigious trophy if they were to capture Haaland this summer.

Chelsea FC Transfer Talk: Olivier Giroud, Conor Gallagher Tue, 15 Jun 2021 05:07:02 +0000 Welcome to the summer silly season! Chelsea FC were essentially “champions” of this competition, last time out, as they outspent the rest of the world, by a considerable margin, in the last summer transfer window.

Expect Owner Roman Abramovich to greenlight another summer spending spree this time around, so let’s dive straight in with the latest Blues transfer news and notes. This edition focuses more on the selling portion of the transfer window, instead of the buying component.

Three days ago, a report surfaced claiming that Chelsea could sell off at least five players, and perhaps two more this summer, meaning that Chelsea might part ways with as many as seven players. Here are two more footballers that could be exiting west London.

France forward Olivier Giroud was already re-signed this offseason, but probably not with the intention of keeping the 34-year-old around. Instead the purpose was getting value in return when they part ways with him. According to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport, a potential suitor has been found in AC Milan, but the article suggests Giroud would be allowed to leave on a free, as it’s a foreign club.

The reports claim that an agreement will be reached within the next 48 hours or so with the centre-forward to sign a two or three year deal wih the Rossoneri.

Milan would pay Giroud between €3.5 million and €4 million per season in this new deal.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have become synonymous with loading up their squad and then loaning their players out all over the world. Midfielder Conor Gallagher is an example, as he spent last term on loan with West Bromwich Albion. According to The Sun, Crystal Palace will offer £15 million for him.

The England U21 international hopes to fight for a place in the European champions first team this upcoming season, but that’s a tough task. The 21-year-old knows what a competitive, crowded midfield there is to contend with at Stamford Bridge, but he’s already shown that he can handle the day in and day out rigors of the Premier League during his time with West Brom.

Now with the Baggies relegated, he needs to transfer in order to stay up in the top flight, and maybe moving across town would be the right move.

Of course, he’d be going to a team that doesn’t have a manager right now. It’s always worth mentioning again that getting rid of your deadwood, selling off the fringe players, correctly, is just as important as obtaining the right set of new players.

It just doesn’t get the same level of attention

Chelsea may have Haaland wait but another Blues transfer target is available Wed, 09 Jun 2021 06:00:36 +0000 Chelsea are set for another busy transfer window with Thomas Tuchel keen to improve his Champions League winners as Erling Haaland continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge

While focus turns to the Euros for international managers and players, those at clubs are making sure their attention is on the transfer window.

It’s no different at Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel keen to improve his Champions League winning squad.

Plenty of names have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, while there continues to be speculation surrounding possible exits.

The Blues finished in the top four of the Premier League last season and Tuchel will hope to be challenging for the title next campaign.

And Daily Star Sport have rounded up the latest Chelsea transfer news, which may not all make happy reading…

Though reports suggest clubs may now have to wait to make their move with Haaland open to waiting another year.

It’s been claimed the Norwegian superstar is interested in a move to Stamford Bridge and working under Thomas Tuchel, though The Telegraph report Halland is open to spending another season with Dortmund.

Roman Abramovich’s three-word message to Thomas Tuchel as they met for the first time after… Mon, 31 May 2021 07:13:08 +0000 Chelsea chief Roman Abramovich had a simple three-word message to manager Thomas Tuchel as they met each other for the first time on the pitch on Saturday night.

The Blues had just won the Champions League final for the second time, beating Manchester City 1-0 in Porto thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz in the first half and some heroic defending from the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Tuchel has undoubtedly done a tremendous job in his short time at Chelsea, with the German tactician only in the job since he replaced Frank Lampard back in January.

Remarkably, Abramovich and Tuchel only met for the first time just after the club’s Champions League victory, with the Russian chief having just three words for his manager: “Let’s talk tomorrow”, according to the Independent.

That can often mean bad news for Chelsea managers, with Abramovich known for making plenty of sackings during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel, however, can surely expect a positive chat about building an even better team for next season.

Video: Kai Havertz keeps his cool to round Ederson and slots Chelsea in front vs Man City Sat, 29 May 2021 20:02:29 +0000 This was expected to be a cagey game, but the reality has been a pulsating affair with constant counter-attacking and some absolutely heroic defending from either side.

City have looked good going forward but Chelsea have had their chances, yet they have fallen to Timo Werner who was wasteful.

It did look like we were headed for half time at 0-0, but Kai Havertz has just picked the perfect moment to score his first UCL goal for Chelsea:

Thomas Tuchel’s two big decisions for Chelsea on Champions League final day Sat, 29 May 2021 12:06:28 +0000 The Blues take on Man City in European club football’s biggest game of the season on Saturday in Porto You would imagine that Thomas Tuchel has got his team selection sorted out eight hours before kick off at the Estadio do Dragao for the Champions League final against Manchester City.

But there will have been some headaches along the way for the head coach as none of his players will want to miss out on a coveted starting eleven spot for the huge match in Porto.

Tuchel has a fully fit squad to choose from for the game against Pep Guardiola’s team as Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante, two crucial players for Tuchel and the Blues, took part in full training on Friday after arriving in Portugal with injury concerns.

There will be players to miss out on the starting lineup and they will no doubt be hugely disappointed to not be starting in such a massive game.

So, what are the decisions that Tuchel will have had to make over the last couple of days and in the wake of the final training session on Friday?
